i keep thinking about how the drummer of Five Eight saved my life and how the new Lemonheads record has a song called Roky, which is of course for Roger Kynard Erickson and how centric Roky was to me & my family’s life and how I think I met Lance in the 80’s at a Lemonheads show and there’s probably a business card of his with an Athens area code # somewhere in my dad’s old house. I call it my dad’s bc obviously my parents divorced after i moved out and bc after I became a single father, he had given my room to some oil company tramp’s kids…”no room for you, son!” anyways, that’s insane you and your mom were in a puerto rican skate mag. I first saw you in that flophouse episode which has a cameo of my not soon enough to be wife Lisa Beth Johnson-“Robertson” (close enough). And that episode made my heart swell. I had been missing my future bride and for once, Vice calmed the storm. One of the guys from Five Eight got married in Belize and my son and I flew out to attend. We dove for lobster and even ate them. When the guys from Five Eight showed that video with you skating in it, I sort of freaked out on them for not knowing the girl was Claire O’Kane, the comedian. And that’s not the first time I’ve been pissed off for giving my life to skateboarding and never getting to prove it in a rock and roll video
So great that you put the spotlight on Peter and Megan. Hi Peter! And Megan, I love her writing as much as I love yours. A LOT. The photos from the past are so sweet.
